Two of us. One business.
Every tour you book, you walk with Elio.

We started Sevilla Tapas Tour to do food tours the way they used to be done — small, slow, and at the bars locals actually go to. No franchised guides. No scripts. No groups of thirty.

Our Story

Elio was born in Seville. For years he worked as an IT technician — a quiet desk job, decent enough — until he started picking up shifts as a tapas tour guide on the side. He liked it. He was good at it. Eventually he left IT and went all in.

Then he spent several seasons guiding for one of the biggest tapas tour companies in the city. And watched it slowly change. Groups got bigger. Stops got shorter. Quantity over the thing that made the tour worth doing in the first place.

So in late 2024 he left and teamed up with Carlos to start Sevilla Tapas Tour. One rule: every tour stays small, every tour goes to bars where locals eat, and every tour is walked by Elio himself. No franchised guides. No scripts. No growth-for-growth's-sake.

Since then we've welcomed guests from over 50 countries, kept a perfect 5-star rating across 340+ Google reviews, and — most importantly — sent thousands of people home with a list of bars they'll come back to without us.

Elio Tovani

Local Guide & Tapas Expert

Born and raised in Seville. I worked as an IT technician for years before tapas tours took over my life — first as a guide for one of the biggest food tour companies in the city, then on my own when bigger groups started getting in the way of doing the tour right.

Book a tour with me and I'll take you to the bars I actually eat at — small spots, no English menus, owners I've known for years. We taste the food, drink what locals drink, and I'll tell you why each piece matters.

Customer Service

I'm passionate about computers, food, and cycling — based in Madrid.

Elio and I met in a Telegram group for ecommerce people. His wife runs a gourmet shop here in Seville, and one thing led to another — we became friends. Eventually I came down for the tour as a regular customer, and walked out thinking the same thing everyone says: this is way too good to stay a side gig. We had to scale it without breaking what made it good.

So I handle the bookings, the emails, the customer service — everything that isn't Elio walking guests through Seville's bars. That way Elio focuses on what he does best, and you get answers from someone who actually knows the tour inside out.

What makes Elio different

Most food tour guides know food. Elio is one of very few in Seville officially certified to teach the wine pairings too.

Official Sherry Educator

Certified by the Consejo Regulador de Jerez

Official Cava Educator

Certified by the Consejo Regulador del Cava

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines

Pass with Merit

What that means in practice: when Elio pours you a fino, manzanilla, or oloroso on the tour, he doesn't just hand it over. He'll tell you why this specific glass pairs with what you're eating, where it comes from, how it's made, and which of the three you're about to want to take home.

As featured on Insider Food

Elio has been featured on British food show Insider Food, walking the cameras through Seville's tapas bars and explaining the culture behind them.

What We Believe

🏠

Local First

We only go to bars where locals eat. If tourists have taken over, we've moved on.

👥

Small Groups

Max 8 (Mon–Thu) · 6 (Fri–Sat). Because food tours should feel like going out with friends, not a school trip.

🍷

Certified Expertise

Elio isn't just enthusiastic — he's an Official Sherry and Cava Educator with WSET certification. The wine pairings come with real depth, not improvised guesses.
