The Experience

More Than a Tour: An Evening with Friends

Forget tourist restaurants and guidebook recommendations. On our tapas tour, you'll discover the bars where sevillanos actually eat: tiny, bustling spots with no English menus, where the bartender knows everyone by name.

The kind of bar where you stand because there are no chairs. The kind of jamón ibérico that's cut by hand, in front of you, by someone who's been doing it longer than you've been alive. The kind of sherry locals drink at 11am with breakfast. Elio knows every owner on the tour by first name — and by the last stop, so will you.

Prices

Per person, everything included: 10+ tastings, 5 drinks and Elio as your host. The only extra is FareHarbor's booking fee (about 5%), shown before you pay.

Ibérico, Explained

You'll never buy the wrong ham again

Every tour includes a proper ibérico tasting — not just a plate of ham, but a short lesson in what you're eating. By the end you'll be able to walk into any shop in Spain and know exactly what to ask for.

  • Bellota vs. cebo de campo vs. cebo — what the pig ate, how it lived, and how that changes the flavour.
  • How to read the label — the black, red, green and white tags, and what they actually guarantee.
  • Denominations of origin — Jabugo, Guijuelo, Los Pedroches, Extremadura and why they differ.
  • Hand-cutting and pairing — why the cut matters, and which sherry or wine brings out the best in it.

Dietary requirements & allergies

Vegetarian and pescatarian diets can usually be accommodated with advance notice. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate vegan diets or guarantee the absence of cross-contamination in the small traditional kitchens we visit. The tour is therefore not suitable for guests with celiac disease or severe food allergies.

Please tell us about any dietary needs when you book. If you're unsure whether the tour is right for you, message Elio on WhatsApp before booking.

Why Choose Us

  • A genuinely intimate tour: only 3–4 guests per departure on average in 2026, and never more than 8. Small enough to fit at the bar, be heard by the owner, and actually talk to Elio.
  • Traveling alone? We got you covered. The tour never gets cancelled for lack of participants — if you're the only one booked, it runs just for you.
  • We send a list of the stops and tapas tasted at the end of the tour, as well as recommendations for your next days in Seville.
  • Your host is WSET Level 3 in Wines and a Certified Sherry Educator (D.O. Jerez), with specialist training in ibérico ham. You'll understand what's in your glass and on your plate, not just eat it.
  • We are a 2-person business, not a multinational. We are local.
  • Family-friendly: children under 4 join for free, and kids aged 4–12 pay a reduced rate (€65 mornings Mon–Thu, €75 evenings and Fri–Sat mornings). Elio has a natural way with kids, and they usually have a great time on the tour!
  • Planning your trip to Seville and not sure where to start? Just ask us. We're happy to help with recommendations on what to see, where to eat, and how to make the most of your visit.
Meet Your Guide

Elio — born here, fed up with the alternative

Elio was born and raised in Seville. He spent years working as an IT technician before falling into food tours almost by accident — and then spending several seasons guiding for one of the biggest tapas tour companies in the city.

The problem? Bigger groups every season. Less time at each bar. A guide handing off to another guide. Quantity over the thing that made the tour worth doing in the first place.

So in late 2021 he started Sevilla Tapas Tour — a two-person operation with one rule: small groups, real bars, no shortcuts. Every regular English-language tour is personally hosted by Elio. Along the way he earned the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and became a Certified Sherry Educator, so the wine and sherry you drink come with real explanations, not trivia.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the tapas tour?

The tour includes 10+ tastings across 4–5 family-run bars, 5 drinks (wine, sherry, beer, or soft drinks), a guided ibérico ham tasting, and Elio as your host — Seville-born, WSET Level 3 in Wines and a Certified Sherry Educator — sharing the stories behind each dish and neighbourhood.

How long does the tour last?

Between 2.5 and 3.5 hours, depending on the group and the night. We take our time — no rushing! It's all about enjoying the food, the conversations, and the atmosphere.

Where does the tour start?

It depends on your tour time: morning tours usually meet at Plaza Nueva, evening tours at Calle Adriano. You'll receive the exact details and a text from Elio 24h before.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we recommend booking at least 24–48 hours in advance. Every tour is capped at 8 guests, so spots fill up quickly, especially during peak season.

Is there a discount for booking early?

Yes, but it's a limited perk rather than our standard price. Our Early Bird discount takes 10% off on selected dates and the first spots of each departure, for bookings made well in advance. It can't be combined with other offers. If it applies to your date, it's applied automatically at checkout — no promo code needed. Standard prices are €99 per person for Monday–Thursday mornings and €125 for evenings and Friday–Saturday mornings.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements or food allergies?

Vegetarian and pescatarian diets can usually be accommodated with advance notice. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate vegan diets or guarantee the absence of cross-contamination in the small traditional kitchens we visit. The tour is therefore not suitable for guests with celiac disease or severe food allergies. Please tell us about any dietary needs when you book, and message us before booking if you're unsure.

What happens if it rains?

The tour runs rain or shine! Most of our stops are indoors at cozy bars, so rain actually adds to the atmosphere. We only cancel in extreme weather conditions, in which case you'll receive a full refund.

Is the tour available in languages other than English?

Our main tours are in English, but Elio is also fluent in Spanish. For private tours, we can arrange guides in other languages — just ask!

How much walking is involved?

We walk about 2 km total at a leisurely pace, mostly on flat streets with some cobblestones. Our route uses small historic venues, so accessibility can vary — some bars are standing room only or have a step at the door. Please contact us before booking and we will confirm the most suitable route and make adjustments where possible.

Can children join the tour?

Absolutely! Children under 4 join for free, and kids aged 4–12 pay a reduced rate: €65 on Mon–Thu morning tours and €75 on evening and Fri–Sat morning tours. Just let us know when you book so we can prepare. Kids are very welcome, and Elio has a natural way with children — they usually have a blast on the tour! We'll make sure there are kid-friendly food options at every stop, and non-alcoholic drinks are always available.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the tour. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable, but you can reschedule to another date subject to availability. For the full details, see our Terms & Conditions.

How many people are in each group?

Only 3–4 guests per departure on average in 2026, and never more than 8 on our shared tours. It's the smallest owner-led tapas tour in Seville. And the tour runs even if you're the only person booked: we never cancel for lack of participants. This way, Elio can give everyone personal attention, and the experience feels more like going out with friends than a typical tour.

What makes this tour different from other food tours in Seville?

Three things. Size: only 3–4 guests per departure on average, and never more than 8. Expertise: Elio was born and raised in Seville, holds the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and is a Certified Sherry Educator, so the wine, sherry and ibérico come with real explanations. And reliability: every departure is guaranteed, even for a single guest. Our guests consistently say it feels like exploring the city with a local friend, not a tour guide.

“I couldn’t recommend Elio’s food tour enough. My partner and I went on our first day in Sevilla, and we were blown away by Elio’s knowledge, passion and charisma. We had some wonderful food and drinks and it was an amazing opportunity to visit family run restaurants that you wouldn’t know about as a tourist. It was a great way to get to know this wonderful city. We also visited some of Elio’s recommendations outside the tour, which were equally as fabulous. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sevilla who loves food.”
